Hi my name is Beth; I have worked for Cotton Tails Ltd since 2003. I began my journey into childcare at the age of 16. When I left school I wanted to work with children but I knew going to college full time was not the right path for me. I took a chance and wrote a letter to Happy Days -Quinton asking if they had a position for an Apprentice. They accepted my letter and offered me an interview, my luck was in and I was offered the job!
Being my first job I was a little nervous but after my first day I knew I had made the right decision and couldn’t wait to get back there. During this time, I gained so much knowledge and achieved so much experience. After I completed my NVQ2 I went to work at our sister nursery Cotton Tails – Northfield where I became a Room Leader for the School Room. Whilst working there I gained my NVQ3 and also more experience in higher roles such as Nursery Senior. In 2009 I became Deputy Manager, this was a great opportunity for me and helped me progress to where I am today. During my time at Cotton Tails- Northfield I was part of two OFSTED inspections and the team worked together to achieve ‘Outstanding’ both times.
In 2016 Cotton Tails at Hagley opened and I was transferred here to become Manger, and have also gained my NVQ3 in Management. This is an exciting challenge for me as I get to work with a new team of people, and be part of an incredible adventure, seeing the company grow. Over the years I have got to meet many amazing children and have been rewarded by watching their personalities grow from being young babies to big children ready for their next chapter at ‘Big School’.
My name is Lynda Noon, I am the Area Manager for Cotton Tails Nurseries Ltd. I joined Happy Days in 1998 having been on a work placement at the nursery during my NNEB studies. Throughout the years I have had various roles and predominantly worked with our 3 and 4 year olds.
In 2005, I became the nursery manager for Happy Days. Throughout my time with the company I have also been able to continue my studies and in 2010 gained a BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies. My responsibilities then began to increase, taking on wider duties for the company rather than just my setting. I am very passionate about the company and everything involved.
In my years at Happy Days, I have seen so many children come and go, all leaving us with a great foundation for the future. I am proud of the nursery and everything we have achieved, particularly our Outstanding Ofsted rating in July 2013.
Hello. My name is Nicola Cotton, I am the proprietor of Cotton Tails Nurseries Ltd which also incorporates Happy Days.
Happy Days was the first nursery that I opened in July 1991, followed by Cotton Tails in August 1996 and Cotton Tails Too in May 2001 with my husband David. Our fourth nursery Cotton Tails at Hagley opened in 2016.
We have our own family of 4 children, 3 of them are all grown up now, but we still have a primary age child. We opended our nurseries to provide a caring and safe envrionmemt where children could grow and develop into strong individuals. I have achieved BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies. It has been a delight over the years to see so many children leave us with great foundations for the next big stage in their life.
Our ethos was to ensure all of our settings were homely and caring, providing close links with our children's families; excellent parent partnership is crucial to helping a child reach their full potential.
All the nursery practitoners are employed by our 4 excellent nursery managers, 2 have acheived 'Outstanding' in their Ofsted inspections.
Both David and myself are very proud of our team, they are all enthusiastic and have very special relationships with the children in their care.
