Located in the old police station on Kidderminster Road, Cotton Tails at Hagley is our fourth nursery, opened in 2016.
With over 25 years of childcare experience, we’re proud to offer a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. Our refurbished two-storey nursery has four bright, welcoming rooms and a secure, specially designed outdoor play area that encourages children to be active every day.
We provide nappies and freshly prepared meals as part of our fees (please note we do not supply formula milk). For extra peace of mind, the nursery also has robust security measures, including CCTV and fob entry.
At our last Ofsted inspection, we were rated GOOD, with an OUTSTANDING grade for children’s behaviour, care, and welfare — something we’re incredibly proud of.
Explore how we make every room safe, fun, and inspiring for little ones
Our Baby Room is a cosy, homely space with plenty of room to play, rest, and explore - both indoors and out. Babies enjoy messy play, painting, singing, and story time, helping them learn and grow while having fun.
As little ones move from crawling to walking, routines adapt to their needs, with lots of love, care, and encouragement every step of the way. We also use Makaton (simple sign language) to support early communication.
Our Tinie Room is a bright, spacious space designed for busy toddlers to explore, play, and learn. With areas for messy play, building, and imaginative activities - as well as direct access to the garden - it’s the perfect step between babyhood and independence.
Children enjoy a variety of fun activities tailored to their needs and interests, with gentle support for early potty training when they’re ready. It’s a lively, nurturing room that helps little ones grow into confident, active toddlers.
Our Nursery Room is a bright, open-plan space with areas for role play, messy play, stories, and singing. With its own bathroom and changing area, this room supports children as they move towards being confidently out of nappies.
Learning here is play-based and shaped by the children’s ideas, home experiences, and the EYFS framework. Social and emotional skills, friendships, and language development are a big focus, with plenty of opportunities for fun, rest, and discovery throughout the day.
Our School Room is a bright, welcoming space designed to prepare children for the move to ‘big school’. With its own toilet facilities, the room encourages independence, confidence, and new skills through daily routines and play.
Children enjoy extra experiences such as brushing their teeth and exploring the local community on outings. By the time they leave us, they’re well equipped and ready to embrace the exciting challenges of school life.
Beth Hemmings has been part of the Cotton Tails family since 2003, starting as an Apprentice and quickly gaining her NVQ2. She moved to our Northfield nursery, becoming School Room Leader, earning her NVQ3, and progressing to Nursery Senior and then Deputy Manager, playing a key role in two Outstanding Ofsted inspections.
In 2016, Beth became Manager at Cotton Tails Hagley. She holds an NVQ3 in Management and leads the nursery with passion and dedication, supporting children as they grow from babies into confident, school-ready learners. Beth is supported by two Deputy Managers, Jemma Hodgson and Sarah Stevens, working together to ensure staff and children thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.
