About Our Nursery

Cotton Tails Northfield has been part of the local community since 1996, caring for children aged 0 - 5 in a safe, happy, and sociable environment where they can grow and thrive.

Open Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 6pm, 52 weeks a year (excluding Bank Holidays), we value strong parent partnerships and have an open-door policy so families can share in their child’s journey.

Our nursery operates from a spacious, converted house with four age group rooms and a secure, purpose-built outdoor play area for daily active fun. The nursery also has CCTV throughout, giving families extra peace of mind. Meals and nappies are included, with fresh, healthy food prepared on-site by our two cooks.

We are proud to have achieved Outstanding in our last two Ofsted inspections, reflecting our commitment to high-quality childcare.

Our Nursery Rooms

Our rooms are designed to nurture and support children from 0–5 years old.

Baby Room (0–1yrs)

Our Baby Room is a calm, homely space with its own milk kitchen, changing area, and cosy corners for rest. Babies enjoy messy play like sand, water, and painting, helping them explore, create, and develop fine and gross motor skills.

Meal times are happy and social, with little ones supported to feed themselves at low tables or highchairs. Each child has a Key Person to follow their routine and make sure they feel safe, settled, and cared for every day.

Tinie Room (1–2yrs)

Our Tinie Room is a bright, fun space designed for adventurous toddlers. With areas for messy play, cosy carpet for relaxation, and a conservatory for soft play, bikes, and trikes, children can explore and develop their growing skills.

The conservatory opens to a safe decking area with artificial grass, giving little ones their own outdoor space while still enjoying the main garden too. Creative play, feeding times, and plenty of opportunities for fun make this a stimulating room where toddlers can thrive.

Nursery Room (2–3yrs)

Our Nursery Room offers a little more structure while still keeping play at the heart of learning. Here, children build independence, social skills, and confidence through fun activities and group time.

With child-friendly toilets and support from our team, we encourage healthy habits, hygiene, and kindness towards friends. Communication is a big focus, with activities that help children grow their vocabulary and understanding of the world.

The space includes three open-plan areas and a smaller room, giving children plenty of variety as they learn and explore.

School Room (3-5yrs)

Our School Room helps children prepare for ‘Big School’ by fostering independence in dressing, toileting, and serving their own food and drink.

The bright, stimulating environment encourages curiosity and achievement, with activities that develop problem-solving, phonics, numbers, and early writing skills. Daily routines, helpful monitors, and practical tasks give children a taste of school life while building confidence and understanding of right and wrong.
