At Cotton Tails, we believe children thrive when parents and nursery staff work closely together. That’s why we put such importance on building strong, positive relationships with every family.
Parent Partnership
Working Together
Life can be busy, but we make it as easy as possible for parents to get involved and stay connected with their child’s nursery journey. We do this in a variety of ways:
-
Stay & Play sessions and Parent Workshops
-
Open evenings and Parent evenings
-
Fundraising and community events
-
Parent pages in memory books / learning journeys
-
Contributing to your child’s individual planning (All About Me Train)
- Being involved in assessments, including initial, ongoing, formal age-2 checks, and any specialist assessments if needed
We also use secure, paperless systems to share updates, assessments, and milestones. Parents can access these regularly, add comments, and share what children are learning at home.
EYFS Curriculum
All of our nurseries follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It’s tailored within each age band to meet the needs of every child, with all activities being play-based and fun.
-
Under 2s focus on the prime areas of learning: Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Communication & Language.
-
As children progress, we also introduce the specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts & Design.
We carefully support each child as they move through the nursery, creating a Memory Book to capture their journey - a keepsake for you to treasure.
SEND Support
We’re committed to supporting every child as an individual. Our nurseries provide tailored help for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working closely with parents and professionals to create inclusive learning environments. By offering the right support at the right time, we help children grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
Our Team
Our dedicated staff are chosen through a thorough recruitment process, and many of our senior team have progressed into leadership roles during their time at Cotton Tails. Staff are continually supported with training and qualifications, helping them to grow and develop their skills.
Several of our managers have been with us for over ten years, bringing a wealth of experience and continuity to our nurseries. Staff details, photographs, and qualifications are displayed in each nursery so you’ll always know who is caring for your child. You’ll also be formally introduced to staff when your child joins or moves rooms.
Safeguarding
At Cotton Tails, your child’s safety and wellbeing will always come first. Safeguarding isn’t just a policy for us — it’s part of who we are and how we care every day.
Our team are trained regularly, and we have dedicated safeguarding leads to support both families and staff whenever they’re needed. We keep things simple, with clear procedures, careful checks, and regular risk assessments, so you can feel confident your child is protected.
Most importantly, we believe in working closely with parents. By building trusting, open relationships, we can spot concerns early and act quickly, making sure every child feels safe, valued, and cared for.
Ofsted
Each Cotton Tails nursery is registered with Ofsted, who regulate and inspect all early years settings to ensure high standards of care and education. Following an inspection, a full report is published and available for you to read on the individual nursery page.
