We pride ourselves in having strong parent partnerships. We encourage all staff to develop strong links with the families of the children in their individual key group.
We understand that day to day life is busy but we try and encourage parents to engage with the setting as much as possible. We do this in a variety of ways:
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They regulate and inspect to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people and in education and skills for learners of all ages.
Ofsted inspect our settings and carry out the regulatory visits to ensure that we effectively support children through the EYFS and deliver the aims of the framework. Following an inspection of a setting, the nursery receives a full report documenting the inspectors’ findings.
We have been through the registration process with Ofsted, and are awaiting our first full inspection as a newly registered setting.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum is applied in all of our nursery rooms. It is adapted within the age bands to meet the needs of each child. All activities are play based and fun. Our under 2’s age groups focus on the prime areas of learning:
As the children progress through the nursery, we also introduce the specific areas of learning. These are:
The children are supported uniquely throughout their transition from room to room; we follow their journey and keep an on-going memento of their time with us in the form of a Memory Book. You will have access to your child’s assessments regularly. You will have the opportunity to comment and inform us of anything your child is learning at home.
Our staff team are carefully selected following strict recruitment procedures. The Manager of Cotton Tails at Hagley has been employed within the company for over ten years, where possible, we always try and promote within and currently all of our senior team members have been put in place following progression and strengths developed during their time with us. Our team members are always supported to develop their knowledge and/or their qualifications.
Staff information is displayed around the setting, such as their photographs, qualifications and a little bit of information about roles carried out. You will always receive formal introductions to the staff when you join us or when your child progresses from room to room.
