Parent Information

Parent Partnership

We encourage all staff to develop strong links with the families of the children in their individual key group.

We understand that day to day life is busy but we try and encourage parents to engage with the setting as much as possible. We do this in a variety of ways:

  • Stay and play sessions
  • Open evenings
  • Fundraising events
  • Parent evenings
  • Parent pages for memory books / learning journeys
  • Individual planning for your child (All About Me Train)
  • Being involved in assessments for your child e.g. Initial assessment, ongoing assessment using 2simple software, formal assessment age 2 years and any specialist assessment due to specific needs.

Ofsted

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They regulate and inspect to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people and in education and skills for learners of all ages.

Ofsted inspect our settings and carry out the regulatory visits to ensure that we effectively support children through the EYFS and deliver the aims of the framework. Following an inspection of a setting, the nursery receives a full report documenting the inspectors’ findings.

Happy Days Nursery Ofsted Report

EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum is applied in all of our nursery rooms. It is adapted within the age bands to meet the needs of each child. All activities are play based and fun. Our under 2’s age groups focus on the prime areas of learning:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language Development

As the children progress through the nursery, we also introduce the specific areas of learning. These are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

The children are supported uniquely throughout their transition from room to room; we follow their journey and keep an on-going memento of their time with us in the form of a Memory Book. You will have access to your child’s assessments regularly, these will be emailed via the 2simple software. You will have the opportunity to comment and inform us of anything your child is learning at home.

Our Staff

Our staff team are carefully selected following strict recruitment procedures. The Manager at Happy Days has been employed at the nursery for over fifteen years, where possible, we always try and promote within and currently all of our senior team members have been put in place following progression and strengths developed during their time with us. Our team members are always supported to develop their knowledge and/or their qualifications.

Staff information is displayed around the setting, such as their photographs, qualifications and a little bit of information about roles carried out. You will always receive formal introductions to the staff when you join us or when your child progresses from room to room.
